Dedicated to people with disabilities
Rancho de los Animales is a ranch dedicated to people with disabilities. We serve people all over the central coast. We offer a therapeutic riding program as well as our petting zoo comprised of sheep, goats, our friendly little chickens, and our fury little bunny. We offer birthday parties and riding lessons in addition to our therapy program. Spring and summer is the busiest season for us. During the winter, our main goal is to keep the animals fed and healthy. We are always in need of volunteers to help out with all of the work there is around this 8 acres. We are always in need of tax-deductible donations to help us feed the animals. In fact, we are completely run off of donations.
About Beth the owner/founder
Beth Currier had the dream of creating a ranch such as this one since she was young. She was diagnosed with Polio at the age of 12, when she was first put in a wheelchair as a paraplegic. She wanted to have somewhere she could go and ride horses, but everyone told her the same thing, "You can't walk, you can't ride!" Beth was very disappointed about this, and decided she wanted to change it. So, when she was mature enough, she bought this 8 acre property in Arroyo Grande, CA on the beautiful Central Coast. She made it possible so that anyone of any shape, size, age, and physical ability would be able to ride horses, or atleast feel welcome to visit the animals and the ranch.
We Need Your Help!!!
We have recently been short on volunteers and short on funds. We would love to have more people come out and help out with some ranch chores in return for possibly a chance to ride one of the horses, or to spend some time with any of our other animals out here on the rancho. We also are in need of donations. We are non-profit and can offer a tax-deduction form with your generous donation. If you do decide to donate, you are always welcome to come and visit the ranch and all of the beautiful horses and other animals. Hay is getting pretty expensive, especially as it gets closer to the winter season. Please consider helping out a place in need, especially a place like us, who works to serve those who wouldn't normally get this opportunity.
